Camp Themes

Advanced Lego Robotics

Using LEGO® MINDSTORMS® components to build and program more advanced projects, interactive tutorials make it easy for campers to reach an advanced level of programming as they learn to build robots that travel, monitor sensors, and use advanced programming. Campers will build a variety of increasingly sophisticated robots like the Strider (a six-legged creature),The Rock Climber (a climbing vehicle), The Brick Sorter (a robot that sorts by color and size), The Robotic Arm (a mover and picker), and the exciting Humanoid Robot! This camp presents numerous building and programming challenges throughout the week. Campers are encouraged to think creatively and to apply what they have learned to develop the skills essential in creating their own robot masterpieces.

Brainiacs Physics and Brain Teasers

Looking for a challenge this summer? This camp has it all. From chess to physics and brain teasers and more.
This is a camp designed to make you think and rethink. Expand your horizons and learn new skills with daily challenges.

Rolling, bouncing, racing, zipping, squishing, and more! Like all sciences, physics is all about solving problems and figuring out why things do what they do. In this hands-on, minds-on camp, we will study physics and how it can be used to analyze and solve real-world problems. Campers will be encouraged to make predictions, discuss observations,
test and solve near-impossible challenges and re-test their ideas if they don’t get the desired results the first time.
Science always includes an element of mystery that kids naturally love to figure out! These challenges are not always obvious what methods you should use to solve them but working as a team using the scientific method we will test and solve challenges together! Science was never this much fun!

Camp Chef Scientific

Camp Chef Scientific is designed for campers' ages 9 - 14. Activities and cooking experiments explore the science behind cooking while learning cooking basics. Chefs will make their own recipes and take-home extras to share with their families when available. This is a course for beginning "Chefs" and will include a variety of breakfast, Mexican, and party recipes.

Camp CSI - Forensics

Campers will learn to become Crime Scene Investigators during actual crime scene setups! Campers will learn how law enforcement professional solve crimes and meet real professional Crime Scene Investigators. Our young Scientist will collect evidence and learn how a crime is actually solved. We will discover how Biology, Chemistry, and Physics play major roles in the investigation!

Sample Projects: Blood Analysis; Fiber, Handwriting, Fingerprinting, and DNA Analysis!

Camp Emergency Vet

Does your child LOVE animals? This camp is a young person’s ticket to the world of Veterinary Medicine. Our lessons will give young vets an opportunity to look into the exciting careers of veterinarians, and allow them to be involved in related hands-on activities and experiments.  Campers will meet animal experts involved in animal care and the animals they work with.  Each camper will even receive their own stethoscope and make their own medical kit! *Campers are NOT to bring their own pets to camp*

Sample Projects:
Owl Pellet Dissection, DNA Extraction, Microscopy, Diseases and Parasites, First Aid, Make Homemade Doggy Treats, and much more!

CAMP JURASSIC

Dinosaurs may be extinct, but they are very much alive in Camp Jurassic. Campers learn about a variety of dinosaurs and their habitats. Rocks, minerals, and fossils are studied along with a variety of related projects.

Chemistry

Did you know that bubbly, explosive concoctions are all just chemical reactions? We will explore the chemical elements as we have fun creating our own reactions. Using the scientific method students will explore experiments in chemistry including elephant toothpaste, solubility and mixing acids and basis. So, put on those safety goggles and let’s start mixing!

Chemistry of Wellness

This is our most relaxing camp ever!  With zen sand boxes, meditation and essential oils we will delve into the science of wellness. Make your own bug spray, sunblock, sensory bottles, bath bombs and more. Learn about botany and build your own herb garden.

Coding and Gaming

Meet Dash, Dot, and Ozobot. Using robots campers will participate in maze challenges and obstacle courses. These educational robots walk students through coding and programming using fun interactive games where students build and test their skills in math and help them to think further to solve their interactive games. Students will learn how to code their robots to do different commands.

Computer Game Coder

Bits, boards, cables, and more. Students will learn to code with click-and-drag video game creation! Unleash your child's imagination! Campers, ages 6-8, will learn to create video games with just a click of a mouse. Campers design several uniquely playable games without needing any programming knowledge or prior artistic skills. *Please note that campers will need to have basic reading skills in order to fully participate in the activities in this camp. Also, campers do not take home the buildable computer at the end of camp.*

Sample Topics:
"Modding" Minecraft, Elements of Game Design, Interviews with Game Developers, Logic and Math in Games, Player Controls, and more!

Jr. Doctor

Make no bones about it; this camp is for the aspiring "Young Physician". Campers will learn that their bodies are miles of blood vessels, hundreds of muscles, many thousands of hairs, a furnace, a filter, and a fancy computer! Your Young Physician will really have a pulse on the human body with this camp!

Sample Projects: Building a Lung Model! Testing for Germs! Build a Spinal Column! Heart Model!

Lego Builders – Lego city & more

Campers will build a Lego city with moving parts, imagination and guided directions. By using the themes of construction
and travel, campers learn about machines, gears and pulleys. Campers receive lots of suggestions for ideas but are encouraged
to use their own creativity and imagination. In addition to building our city we will break each day for a special project
including Lego mazes and zip lines.

Lego Robotics with Drones

With Legos the possibilities are endless. This camp is filled with ideas to spark your child’s imagination.Young engineers will learn to build and code robots and drones. Campers will build and customize their own personal talking robot friend, code its behavior and complete fun activities. Their robot will interact with them. When they speak to their Lego robot creation and it will respond with facial expressions that reflect its mood.In addition, campers will make rebuild-able, crash-friendly drones using Lego bricks. The sky is the limit in this camp!
