At Club Scientific Summer Camps, we combine hands-on learning with one-on-one attention to create a fun environment that teaches students to enjoy the challenge of critical thinking. By offering multiple camp themes each week, our curriculum is intended to appeal to your child's unique interests. Is your child fascinated by robots? Enroll in one of our Robotics camps! Does your child want to be a Doctor when they grow up? Enroll in our Jr. Medical Doctor camp! Is your child always asking to help cook or bake? Enroll them in our Chef Scientific camp! All of our hands-on activities conform to National Science Standards, making science challenging and fun! Our camp Directors are highly trained educational professionals, assisted by skilled instructors that have have a passion for science!

Camp Descriptions

Camp Intergalactic Engineer

Cost: $395/week and Half Day: $205/week
Ever dreamt of living on a distant planet in another cosmic universe? Put your space odyssey thinking caps on and enter into the realm of intergalactic engineering! Our Intergalactic Camp Engineers will explore the world of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) and learn new ways of thinking and analyzing. They will join the crew aboard the International Space Station (ISS) to learn about propulsion, friction, force, simple machines, and gravity. They will also explore the earth, moon, stars, and planets! Intergalactic Camp Engineers will build and design structures and space probes utilizing a variety of LEGO® bricks (including motors, gears, lights, and sensors). Join us as we take on this exhilarating space expedition!

Camp Jurassic

Cost: $395/week and Half Day: $205/week
Dinosaurs may be extinct, but they are very much alive in Camp Jurassic. Campers learn about a variety of dinosaurs and their habitats. Rocks, minerals, and fossils are studied along with a variety of related projects.

Camp JR. Veterinarian

Cost: $395/week and Half Day: $205/week
Jump into the world of veterinary medicine and explore what it’s like to nurture and care for animals and pets! This camp is one of our most popular (because who doesn’t love animals!?) and equips our Young Vet Campers with priceless insight into the inspiring world of veterinarians. They will receive their very own medical kit and partake in related hands-on activities and experiments giving them a chance to look into the exciting career of veterinary science! *Please note: Animals may be present at camp - this camp is not recommended for campers who have cat/dog allergies. Campers are NOT to bring their own pets to camp.*

Camp Meteorology

Cost: $395/week and Half Day: $205/week
Campers discover why weather changes and will explore the different components that make up weather. Our beginner meteorologists learn about the sun, discuss extreme weather (tornadoes and hurricanes!), learn about instruments that are used to predict and track weather, and will even create their own weather news segment!

Engineering elves

Cost: $395/week and Half Day: $205/week
Sir Isaac Newton never had this much fun! Campers will be immersed into our toy makers workshop as they construct and take home several different toy projects during the week. Each project will teach an important physical property.

Camp grossology

Cost: $395/week and Half Day: $205/week
Do you love to be shocked and horrified? Welcome to the ickiest camp ever! Our Icky-ologists will carry out disgusting and gruesome experiments focused on blood, bones, and body bits. Uncover the science of the human body and take a look at the squishy parts you don’t usually get to examine (like brains, snot, and eyeballs)!

Sample Projects:
Bulging Bag of Brains, Simulated Snot, Baby Diaper Dissection, and Eyeball Acrobatics!

Camp Jr. Robot Inventor

Cost: $395/week plus a $35 lab fee and Half Day: $205/week plus a $35 lab fee
This camp is an introduction into the world of robotics. Campers will learn about the six simple machines and how they are incorporated into more complex machines. Campers will also learn about circuits and power sources as they build our “Mars-like” RC Rover. The radio-controlled RC Rover is capable of performing 23 experiments and activities. Campers will also have fun constructing our Aluminum Can Robot.

Sample Projects:
Creating Electric Circuits! Building a remote-controlled vehicle, building simple machines with K'nex, and constructing a robot made out of aluminum can.

In addition:
Campers will work in the areas of observation, experimentation and trial and error as they build, race, and experiment with their robots.

Ocean adventure

Cost: $395/week and Half Day: $205/week
Get ready to dive deep into the high seas and explore the great mysteries of the ocean! Deep Sea Camp Divers will go on an adventure of a lifetime investigating the creatures of the crystal blue waters and maybe even discovering some buried treasure!

Map Making and Orienteering, Knot Tying, Shark Tooth Necklace, Build a Model of a Tall Ship, and several others!

JR. Medical Doctor

Cost: $395/week plus a $35 Lab Fee and Half Day: $205/week plus a $35 Lab Fee
Make NO bones about it; this camp is for the aspiring "Young Physician". Campers will learn that their bodies are miles of blood vessels, hundreds of muscles, many thousands of hairs, a furnace, a filter, AND a fancy computer! Your Young Physician will really have a pulse on the human body with this camp!

Camp Deep Space

Cost: $395/week and Half Day: $205/week

Engaging does not even start to describe this camp which combines solid fuel rocketry and LEGO® bricks. This NXT-based space adventure is designed for use with LEGO® MINDSTORMS® components and software. Our program for the week provides everything needed to facilitate an exciting STEM-based robocamp. STEM stands for: Science-Technology-Engineering-Math, and is a fundamental part of this camp by providing a hands-on minds-on environment. We will combine the experience with Estes Rocket Labs as campers design and build their own rockets. When they are finished, they watch their rockets blast toward the stratosphere!

Chef Scientific

Cost: $395/week plus a $35 Lab Fee and Half Day: $205/week plus a $35 Lab Fee

Come discover the science behind cooking with a dose of nutritional basics. Learn about how science is incorporated into preparing daily meals and how these choices affect our bodies! Our Edible Science Chefs will explore a variety of healthy breakfast, dessert, and party recipes! With supervision from our instructors, chefs will use a range of kitchen gadgets and appliances such as ovens, hotplates, blenders, and more as they prepare their dishes.*If your child has dietary restrictions or allergies please include that information on your online registration form.*

Emergency Veterinarian

Cost: $395/week plus a $35 Lab Fee and Half Day: $205/week plus a $35 Lab Fee

One of our most popular camps! This camp is a young person’s ticket to the world of Veterinary Medicine. Our lessons will give young vets an opportunity to look into the exciting careers of real veterinarians, and allow them to be involved in related hands-on activities and experiments. Each camper will receive his or her very own medical kit. *Please note: Animals may be present at camp - this camp is not recommended for campers who have cat/dog allergies. Campers are NOT to bring their own pets to camp.*

Special Effects

Cost: $395/week and Half Day: $205/week

One of our most popular camps!! In our Special Effects camp; campers learn the science behind Hollywood's special effects. Activities will demonstate concepts related to light, sound, perception, illusion, and set building. Campers will also learn various special effect make-up techniques working with the same materials used by professional make-up artists to simulate cuts, bruises, artificial blood, and old age. Is there a future movie director living in your house? Students will WORK IN GROUPS OF TWO while designing their stop-motion films - please make sure to let your child know they will work with a partner while designing their stop-motion creations.

pastry Chef Scientific

Cost: $395/week plus a $35 Lab Fee and Half Day: $205/week plus a $35 Lab Fee

Do you have a young aspiring pastry chef in your household that is serious about desserts? No, No!!! We mean serious! Come discover the science behind baking. Learn about how science is incorporated into preparing desserts. Our Pastry Chefs will explore a variety of sweet treats from around the world! From baking to plating your chef will be ready to put the cherry on top of your next event! With supervision from our instructors, chefs will use a range of kitchen gadgets and appliances such as ovens, hotplates, blenders, and more as they prepare their dishes.*If your child has dietary restrictions or allergies please include that information on your online registration form.*

Camp CSI - Forensics

Cost: $395/week and Half Day: $205/week

Calling all future Crime Scene Investigators! Campers will learn how law enforcement professionals solve crimes and analyze evidence. We will use many of the same tools used by professionals to collect evidence from our mock crime scenes. Campers will learn how a crime is actually solved using the science of Forensics, and learn how Biology, Chemistry and Physics plays a major role in the investigation! Campers use microscopes to analyze fibers, use facial composite software, and more!

Sample Projects:
Blood Analysis; Fiber, Handwriting, Fingerprinting, and DNA Analysis!

Camp Robot Inventor

Cost: $395/week plus $35 Lab Fee and Half Day: $205/week plus a $35 Lab Fee

Campers will learn about the Science of Robotics with information on famous inventors, major innovations, and breakthroughs and advances in robot history. Newton's Laws will be emphasized all week and each camper will receive three Robot Kits to work on. Campers will be able to take home their remote controlled robots! For the 2018 Summer Camp season, We will be featuring our 4–Motor Robotic Arm kit. In addition to these projects campers will be learning how to solder with our "Blinky Bot" soldering project. These are skills which are a MUST for anyone taking courses in robotics or electronics.

Camp Pricing & Information:

  • Full–Day Camps: 
    • Offered at both the Club Scientific Lab in Waldwick, and at the Franklin Lakes location.
    • 26 different camp themes for Ages 5-12 to choose from!
    • Most camp themes include 4 hands-on science activities each day!
    • Each camp day includes an exciting Morning Science Demonstration, at least 45 minutes of Active Outdoor time (weather permitting), and the chance to socialize with friends during their lunch break!
    • Full-day camps operate from 9am - 4pm
      • Optional Pre-Camp from 8am - 9am available for $40 per week
      • Optional Post-Camp from 4pm - 5:30pm available for $55 per week
    • Camp prices start at $395 per week.
      • Some camps have an additional lab fee of $35 per week.
  • Half–day camps: 
    • Both Franklin Lakes & Waldwick locations have full or half-day options available for all camps.
    • Morning camp sessions operate from 9am to 12pm
    • Afternoon camp sessions operate from 1pm to 4pm
    • Each half-day camp includes at least 2 hands-on science activities per day.
    • All Half-day camps cost $205 per week.All camps are offered as a half day option.

Cancellation Policy: 
Full refunds will be given until May 1st. A 75% refund will be given between May 2nd and May 31st. No refunds will be made after June 1st. All registration cancellations will incur a 5% fee to cover our non-refundable registration and credit-card fees.
